Heating Basics
Three basic components make up any climate control devices. Your heating system is no different.
The first component is your source of warm air: i.e. your furnace. The second component is your means of distributing the air, i.e. your heating ducts (if you have central air, your cool and warm air probably come from the same place). The third component is your regulation device, better known as a thermostat. When something is wrong with your heating system, it’s any three of these components.
Heating and air units work on the principle that heat always moves from a warm object to a cooler object. Heaters and furnaces put heat into the air to make your home warmer. When the furnace is turned on it consumes the fuel that power it. As fuel is burned, heat is produced and sent to areas of your home. This is why energy efficient devices are so important.
